Fulton neighborhood crime reports

July 7  Between 11 p.m. and 7:15 a.m., an unknown suspect broke a window of a vehicle which was parked outside the rear garage of a home on the 5100 block of Xerxes and took unlisted items. 
July 9  Between midnight and 7 a.m., unknown suspect(s) egged a house on the 4700 block of Drew. A resident stated that this was the second time this had happened and that it costs a lot to clean up the damage.

July 15  Between 6 p.m. July 16 and noon July 17, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 5300 block of Russell and rummaged through a vehicle which was parked inside.  No loss was reported.  A resident told police that the overhead garage door was found to be open and that the opener had been malfunctioning recently.

July 19  Between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m., an unknown suspect broke the front passenger side window of a vehicle which was parked in front of an address on the 5300 block of Abbott and took unlisted item(s).

July 20  Between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. at an address on the 4700 block of Xerxes, a gun which was hidden in a bedroom was stolen. The resident had guests at the home during this time. 
July 24  Between 9:30 p.m. and 7:20 a.m., unknown suspect(s) stole a bike from an unlocked garage on the 5100 block of Upton
July 24  Between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., unknown suspect(s) stole two bikes from an unlocked garage on the 5100 block of Upton. Two other bikes, which did not belong to the resident, were found next to the garage. 
July 24  Between 10 p.m. and noon, unknown suspect(s) stole two bikes from an unsecured garage on the 5100 block of Upton. One of the bikes stolen from the report above was recovered at this location. 
July 27  Between July 19 and 27, unknown suspect(s) trimmed a 23-year-old tree in the yard of a home on the 4800 block of Ewing
July 27  Between 7:30 and 9:45 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a bike which was locked to a bike rack near Broder’s Pasta Bar at 50th & Penn. The bike owner stated that the lock was high-quality.

July 30  At about 4:20 p.m., police responded to a narcotics complaint at the basketball court at Pershing Park, 3523 West 48th St.  20-year-old Jordan Douglas Klein of Edina and 20-year-old Jacob Forrest Robbs of 5748 Morgan Ave South were cited for a petty misdemeanor narcotics violation for being in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana.

July 30  Between 7:55 and 10:25 p.m., an unknown suspect broke out the rear driver’s side window of a vehicle which was parked in the Pig & Fiddle lot on the northwest corner of 50th & Ewing and took a laptop computer in a backpack case from the floor behind the driver’s seat.

August 1  Between 9 p.m. and 7:50 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked garage on the 5200 block of Washburn and rummaged through a vehicle which was parked inside.  No loss was reported.

August 1  Between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered an unsecured garage on the 5200 block of Washburn and took loose change from an unlocked vehicle which was parked inside.

August 1  Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., unknown suspect(s) stole a bike from a garage on the 5200 block of Xerxes.

August 1  Between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked garage on the 5200 block of Washburn and took unlisted items from two vehicles which were parked inside.

August 2  Between 12:30 and 6:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a vehicle which was parked in the driveway of a home on the 5200 block of Xerxes and rummaged through the glove box.  It was unknown if any loss occurred.  The suspect(s) used the garage door opener which was in the vehicle to open the garage door.  It was unknown if the suspect(s) entered a second vehicle which was parked in the driveway because the vehicle was moved before police arrived.

August 9  Between July 11 and August 9, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked in front of a home on the 4800 block of Zenith and took money, sunglasses, and CDs.  The victim noted that this had happened on three separate occasions.

Forced entry property crimes

 

July 10  Between 6:45 a.m. July 10 and 7 a.m. July 11, an unknown suspect stole a vehicle which was parked at 58th & Xerxes in Armatage.

July 11  Between July 11 and 14, an unknown suspect rummaged through a vehicle which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 5700 block of Irving in Kenny.  No loss was listed.

July 13  Between 8 and 10 a.m., suspects entered a residence on the 5600 block of Newton in Armatage and took unlisted item(s).

July 13  Between 11:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., an unknown suspect took unlisted item(s) from the center console of a vehicle which was parked in the driveway of a home on the 3700 block of Abbott in Linden Hills.

July 13  Between July 13 and 16, an unknown suspect broke the driver’s side window of a vehicle which was parked in front of an address on the 4600 block of Xerxes in Linden Hills.  The suspect unlocked the door but no loss was reported.

July 15  Between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m., unknown suspect(s) stole two bikes from a garage on the 5100 block of Bryant in Lynnhurst.

July 17  Between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., unknown suspect(s) trampled plantings and broke garden statuary in front of a home on the 3800 block of Thomas in Linden Hills.  A resident stated that there have been ongoing problems with unsupervised drinking parties involving juveniles at a rental house on this block.

July 17  Between 10 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a vehicle from an address on the 3900 block of Sheridan in Linden Hills.

July 17  Between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect stole unlisted items from a vehicle which was parked in the driveway of a home on the 3700 block of Zenith in Linden Hills.

July 18  Between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., a garage on the 5400 block of Bryant in Kenny was broken into.  No further information was listed.

July 19  Between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a garage on the 5300 block of Irving in Lynnhurst and took unlisted item(s).  The suspect(s) left several bikes at the scene which were recovered by police.

July 20  Between 7 p.m. July 20 and 2:30 p.m. July 21, an unknown suspect pushed open the service door of a garage on the 6100 block of Washburn in Armatage, entered the garage, and took a leaf blower.  The leaf blower was subsequently found in a neighbor’s driveway down the alley.

July 20  Between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 6100 block of Sheridan in Armatage and took unlisted item(s).

July 21  Between 1:30 and 3:10 p.m., an unknown suspect broke the driver’s side window of a vehicle which was parked at 44th & Upton in Linden Hills and took a purse.

July 21  Between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m., an unknown suspect cut a window screen by the front door of an occupied home on the 4700 block of Aldrich in Lynnhurst, entered the home, and took a cell phone valued at $599 from a table.

July 23  Between 9:15 p.m. and 11:30 a.m., an unknown suspect rummaged through a vehicle which was parked at an address on the 5600 block of Newton in Armatage and took unlisted items.

July 23  Between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect entered two vehicles, one of which was parked in the driveway of a home on the 4000 block of Beard in Linden Hills and another which was parked on 41st St near Beard Ave, and took unlisted items from the floor, center console, and glove box of both.

July 23  Between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a vehicle which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 5900 block of Oliver in Armatage, rummaged through it, and took cash and credit/debit cards.

July 24  Between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a vehicle which was parked in front of a home on the 6000 block of Logan in Armatage and took unlisted items from the center console.  A Zippo lighter was left behind.  The vehicle was locked and there was no sign of forced entry.

July 27  Between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect broke out the driver’s side window of a vehicle which was parked on the street at 45th & Thomas in Linden Hills and took a laptop case containing paperwork.

July 31  Between 4:30 p.m. and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a bike from a garage on the 5100 block of Colfax in Lynnhurst.  Another bike which did not belong to the victim was left near a neighbor’s garage.

August 6  Between 10:15 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., an unknown suspect stole camping head lights and a fly fishing rod with reel and line from a vehicle which was parked in front of a home on the 5500 block of Aldrich in Kenny.

August 9  Between 8:00 and 9:20 p.m., an unknown suspect broke a window of a vehicle which was parked on the 4600 block of West Lake Harriet Parkway in Linden Hills and stole a purse.  The purse, with blood on it, was recovered later by security staff near Fair Oaks Park, 2200 3rd Ave.

July 7  Between 3 and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a bike from an open garage on the 3900 block of Drew in Linden Hills.

July 13  Between 1 and 6 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked at a home on the 530 block of Knox in Lynnhurst and rummaged through it.  The suspect popped the trunk and stole jumper cables and a massage table and gear.

July 15  Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a bike from the front yard of a home on the 5200 block of Knox in Lynnhurst.  The suspect left fly fishing equipment at the scene, which was recovered by police.

July 21  Between 9 p.m. and 8:30 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a bike from the back yard of a home on the 3800 block of Sheridan in Linden Hills.

July 23  Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked under a carport near the alley at a home on the 3900 block of Drew in Linden Hills, rummaged through it, and took loose change.

July 26  Between 3:00 and 5:40 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a home on the 5100 block of Morgan in Lynnhurst through an unlocked front door and took unlisted item(s) from the refrigerator and left them outside the house.  The suspect cooked food belonging to the residents and left behind cream cheese containers which did not belong to the residents.

July 30  Between 8 p.m. July 30 and 5 p.m. July 31, an unknown suspect stole a bike from a garage on the 4400 block of York in Linden Hills.  The overhead garage door had been left open.

July 31  Between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a yoga mat from an unlocked vehicle which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 5300 block of Irving in Lynnhurst.

August 7  Between 10:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unsecured vehicle which was parked behind a home on the 5600 block of Humboldt in Kenny.  The extent of the loss was unknown at the time the report was made.

Other incidents

July 8  At about 2:25 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 22-year-old Abby Jo Dunne of Eden Prairie and 22-year-old Alyssa Lee Fichter of 1097 24th Ave SE for possession of liquor in a park.

July 8  At about 2:30 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited Andre Bright of 117 Glenwood Ave for possession of liquor in a park.  Bright has prior convictions in Minnesota for 3rd degree felony possession of cocaine with intent to sell, offering a forged check, consuming alcohol in public (4), trespassing, aggressive panhandling (4), disorderly conduct (2), interfering with traffic, and open bottle.

July 8  At about 3:25 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited William Edward Locke of Burnsville and 22-year-old Norman Lee Morris of Shawness, Kan., for possession of liquor in a park.  Locke, who was cited for the same offense at the same location on June 27, has prior convictions in St Louis and Dakota Counties for disturbing the neighborhood and possession/sale of a small amount of marijuana.  Morris has prior convictions in Dakota County for possession of drug paraphernalia (2) and possession/sale of a small amount of marijuana (3).

July 10  At about 4:05 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 23-year-old Keith Richard Peterson of Circle Pines, 20-year-old Camilo Andres Ramirez of Lakeville, and 21-year-old Daniel Steven Ronkuvist of 2518 1st Ave South for possession of liquor in a park.  Peterson has prior convictions in Anoka County for driving while intoxicated, underage consumption of liquor (7), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession/sale of a small amount of marijuana, disorderly conduct, and theft.  Ramirez has prior convictions in Minnesota for 5th degree felony possession of drugs (2), underage consumption of liquor, and 2nd degree burglary of dwelling.

July 15  At about 4:15 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 28-year-old Andrew John Murphy of Eden Prairie and 26-year-old Kathryn Marie Skalak of 2344 19th Ave NE for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspects were drinking beer.

July 16  Between 12:30 and 1:45 p.m., an unknown suspect shot a paintball at a vehicle which was parked in the driveway of a home on the 4700 block of Bryant in Lynnhurst, spattering paint on the vehicle and on nearby trash and recycling containers and damaging the driver’s side mirror.

July 16  At about 1:35 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 21-year-old Emily Marie Hedberg of Savage and 23-year-old Nathan Lucas Plumb of Prior Lake for possession of liquor in a park.  Plumb has a prior conviction on Scott County for underage consumption of alcohol.

July 16  At about 3:30 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 20-year-old Grant Thomas Bischof and 20-year-old Joseph Anthony Griffin, both of Richfield, for possession of liquor by a minor.  Bischof has prior convictions in Hennepin County for driving while intoxicated and underage consumption of alcohol.

July 17  At about 1:15 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 27-year-old Nicholas Guzman of Olympia, Wash., and 30-year-old Gregory Steven Asplund of Las Vegas, Nev., for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspects had 12 oz cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.

July 18  At about 11:05 p.m., officers traveling eastbound on 50th St approaching James Ave saw a male who appeared to be under 18 riding a bike eastbound on 50th St.  The male looked at the officers and then turned left in front of the squad and went north on James Ave.  The officers pursued the male and caught up with him on Park Drive, where they turned on their lights and siren and , using the squad loudspeaker, ordered the male to stop.  The male instead fled on the bike and the officers apprehended him at West Minnehaha Parkway & Morgan Ave.  The male stated that he was “just trying to get home” and that his mother was expecting him.  The 16-year-old male was cited for curfew violation and fleeing police and transported to the Curfew Center.

July 19  At about 1:10 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 24-year-old Rachel Melissa Clark of 2886 James Ave South  and 23-year-old Chelsea Lynn Schmidt of 3110 Fremont Ave South for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspects were in possession of beer.

July 20  At about 3 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 25-year-old Greta Katherine Baker of Deephaven, 23-year-old John Michael Mullen of Golden Valley, Megan Marie Trudeau of Janesville, Wis., and Elliott John Zito of 3146 West Calhoun Blvd for possession of liquor in a park.

July 23  At about 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft from motor vehicle in progress at a home on the 4300 block of Beard in Linden Hills.  The vehicle was unlocked and parked in front.  The caller saw a male suspect sitting in the driver’s seat.  The caller turned on the porch light and the suspect got out of the vehicle and walked northbound on Beard Ave on the sidewalk.

July 24  At about 5:15 p.m., a jogger at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, told police that he had been punched in the face by another jogger while running around Lake Calhoun.

August 3  At about 2:35 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 21-year-old Benjamin Murray Severson of 1116 5th St SE, 22-year-old Ian Andrew Nohner of 310 15th Ave SE, 22-year-old Michael Leo Warne of 1317 6th St SE, 23-year-old Dana Lynn Peterson of 710 7th St SE, and 21-year-old Andrew Marshall Nordberg for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspects were drinking beer or malt beverages.

August 10  Between 1:00 and 5:30 p.m., an unknown suspect threw a piece of brick at a vehicle which was parked at a home on the 6100 block of Thomas in Armatage.  The windshield, rear window, trunk door, and an area above the driver’s side door were damaged.

The Fulton Safety Committee will meet on Tuesday, August 27, at 7 p.m.
