 Fulton neighborhood crime reports

August 18  Between 1 a.m. August 18 and 8 a.m. August 19, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked behind a home on the 5200 block of Xerxes and rummaged through it. No loss was listed in the report. The victim stated that a similar incident at this address involving the theft of an iPod from the same unlocked vehicle had occurred about five months ago but had not been reported to police. 
August 20  At about 3 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a GPS unit from a vehicle which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 5200 block of Upton. A motion detector light went on and a resident found a door of the vehicle ajar and the dome light on. 
August 21  Between 5 p.m. August 21 and 10:10 a.m. August 22, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 5200 block of Chowen through an unlocked service door and took unlisted item(s) from a vehicle which was parked inside. 
August 21  Between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked in the driveway of a home on the 5000 block of Zenith, rummaged through it, and took loose change. 
August 22  Between 3:05 p.m. August 22 and 7:30 a.m. August 23, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 5000 block of Chowen through an unlocked service door and stole a bike.

August 23  Between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m., an unknown suspect broke out a window of a vehicle which was parked on 50th St near France Ave and stole a bag.

August 25  Between noon August 25 and noon August 26, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 4900 block of Drew and stole a bike.

August 25  Between 11 p.m. and 7:15 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a garage on the 5200 block of France and took bikes.  Bikes that did not belong to the property owner were left behind.

August 26  Between 11 p.m. and 2:40 a.m., an unknown suspect pried open the service door of a garage on the 5000 block of Zenith and gained entry.  No loss was reported.

August 30  Between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect broke the glass and bulb of a light in the front yard of a home on the 4700 block of Thomas.

September 1  At about 1:25 a.m., police on the 2500 block of West 49th St near Sheridan Ave cited a 17-year-old male for curfew violation and transported him home.

September 6  At about 1:35 a.m., police at an address on the 5200 block of Zenith arrested 24-year-old Zachery Aaron Kasperzick of 912 Irving Ave North for felony receiving and concealing stolen property.  A 16-year-old male was arrested for a curfew violation, tampering with a motor vehicle, and fleeing police on foot.  Another 16-year-old male was arrested for a curfew violation and tampering with a motor vehicle.  Kasperzick has prior convictions in Minnesota for theft (2), failure to register as a predatory offender, illegal discharge of a firearm, disorderly conduct, 3rd degree assault causing substantial bodily harm, falsely using the name and date of birth of another person, domestic assault, and evading or eluding police.

September 6  At about 9:50 p.m., a suspect armed with a handgun physically assaulted and stole a cell phone from a juvenile male victim at Pershing Park, 3523 West 48th St.   The victim and a witness stated that they could identify the suspect if they saw the person again.

Forced entry property crimes

 

August 12  At about 2:25 p.m., police received a report of a burglary at a home on the 5900 block of Colfax in Kenny.  It was unclear when the incident occurred and whether there was any loss.  The homeowner’s realtor secured the property.

August 13  At about 4:05 a.m., a suspect entered a vehicle which was parked at an address on the 4200 block of Linden Hills Blvd and took unlisted items.  There is surveillance camera video of the incident.

August 14  After midnight, an unknown suspect smashed the passenger side window of a vehicle which was parked on the street on the 4900 block of Morgan in Lynnhurst and took a briefcase and small handbag.  At 5 a.m., two Visa cards stolen from the vehicle were used at a Walmart.

August 14  Between 1 and 8 a.m., unknown suspect(s) vandalized the front porch and stole furniture from the front and back yards of a home on the 5100 block of Logan in Lynnhurst.

August 14  Between 11 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered an occupied home on the 4100 block of Beard in Linden Hills and took unlisted items.

August 15  Between August 15 and 17, an unknown suspect broke a window of a vehicle which was parked on the street on the 5100 block of Logan in Kenny and took a laptop computer.

August 17  Between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed a window of a vehicle which was parked on the street at 54th & Oliver in Lynnhust and took a backpack from the front seat.

August 17  Between August 17 and 23, an unknown suspect stole a bike which was locked to a bike rack next to an apartment building on the 4200 block of Upton in Linden Hills.  The suspect cut the cable lock.

August 17  Between August 17 and 19, an unknown suspect smashed the front passenger side window of a vehicle which was parked on the street on the 4800 block of Bryant in Lynnhurst.

August 19  Between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 5500 block of Richmond Curve in Armatage and took a mountain bike.

August 20  Between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., an unknown suspect forced open the service door of a garage on the 5900 block of Oliver in Armatage and took a bike and tools.

August 21  Between 8 p.m. and 7:45 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the front passenger side window and opened the trunk of a vehicle which was parked on the street on the 4300 block of West Lake Harriet Parkway in Linden Hills.  No loss was reported.

August 22  Between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a vehicle which was pakred at an address on the 3700 block of Zenith in Linden Hills and took unlisted item(s).

August 22  Between August 22 and 24, an unknown suspect entered a vehicle which was parked on the 5000 block of Colfax in Lynnhurst, rummaged through it, and took loose change.

August 28  Between 6 p.m. and 6:50 a.m., an unknown suspect took unlisted items from a vehicle which was parked on the street on the 5600 block of Fremont in Kenny.

September 1  Between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a vehicle parked on the street near 49th & Dupont in Lynnhurst and rummaged through it.  No loss was reported.

September 8  Between 10 p.m. and 6:15 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed out the rear driver’s side window of a vehicle which was parked on the street on the 5000 block of Newton in Lynnhurst.

Unsecured property

August 12  Between 7:30 and 9 p.m., an unknown suspect stole a bike from an unlocked garage on the 5300 block of Irving in Lynnhurst.  Another bike, which did not belong to the homeowner, was found in the yard.

August 13  Between 8 p.m. and 8:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked on the street on the 4000 block of Washburn in Linden Hills and took unlisted items.  The suspect left a purse in the vehicle.  The owner of the vehicle stated that he was startled awake by a car alarm at about 4 a.m. and saw a squad respond to the area.

August 14  Between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle, with the windows rolled down, which was parked on the street on the 5500 block of Aldrich in Kenny.  The suspect rummaged through the center console and glove box and took license plates and a sunglasses case.

August 16  Between 5 p.m. August 16 and 5 p.m. August 17, an unknown suspect stole two storm doors which were propped against the wall of a garage at a home on the 4000 block of Ewing which is under construction and not occupied.

August 18  Between August 18 and 20, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked garage on the 5400 block of Cumberland Road in Armatage and took a bike.

August 19  Between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 5500 block of Richmond Curve in Armatage, rummaged through it, and possibly took CDs.

August 19  Between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked garage on the 5700 block of Sheridan in Armatage and rummaged through a vehicle which was parked inside.  No loss was reported.

August 20  Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., an unknown suspect stole a bike which was on the side of a home, between a bush and the steps, on the 5100 block of Oliver in Lynnhurst.

August 21  Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked in the rear driveway of a home on the 5200 block of Logan in Lynnhurst, rummaged through it, and took loose change.

August 24  Between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked on the street on the 4100 block of France in Linden Hills and took a purse.

August 25  At about 1:05 p.m., a male suspect entered a garage on the 4100 block of Drew in Linden Hills through an open overhead door.  A resident saw the suspect in the garage.  As the suspect exited the garage with unlisted item(s), the resident asked what he was doing.  The suspect told the resident not to mess with him and then fled on foot down the alley.  The suspect had also rummaged through a vehicle which was parked inside; no loss was reported.

August 25  Between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle which was parked on the street on the 4500 block of Abbott in Linden Hills, rummaged through it, and took CDs and sunglasses.

August 28  Between 10:30 p.m. and 6:50 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a garage on the 4200 block of Chowen Ave in Linden Hills through an unlocked service door, rummaged through a vehicle which was parked inside, and took two bikes.

August 28  Between 10:30 p.m. and 7 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 5500 block of Fremont in Kenny, rummaged through a vehicle which was parked inside, and took a bike.  The overhead door was found to be open.

August 30  Between August 30 and September 2, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 2900 block of West 40th St in Linden Hills through an unlocked overhead door and took unlisted item(s).

August 31  Between 11 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 3900 block of Xerxes in Linden Hills through an unlocked service door and stole a bike.  Another bike not belonging to the property owner was left behind in the driveway.

September 1  Between September 1 and 6, an unknown suspect stole unlisted items from an unlocked vehicle which was parked on the street on the 5000 block of Morgan in Lynnhurst.

September 3  At about 12:20 p.m., a suspect entered a garage on the 5200 block of James in Lynnhurst through an open overhead door and took unlisted item(s).  A resident saw the suspect come out of the garage, get into a vehicle, and leave the area.  The resident gave police information about the vehicle.

Other incidents

August 14  At about 4 a.m., officers responded to an audible car alarm at an address on the 4000 block of Washburn in Linden Hills.  Further investigation revealed that there were possible prowlers in the area.  Two suspects were located a few blocks away.  18-year-old Bahar Aboubeker Yoya of 1917 South 6th St, who was in possession of credit cards taken from the victim’s vehicle, was arrested for receiving/concealing stolen property.  19-year-old Teshaun Martel Childs of 2508 Portland Ave, who was in possession of a flashlight, marijuana, and a large amount of loose change, was cited for lurking with intent to commit a crime and a petty misdemeanor narcotics violation.  Yoya had been arrested on July 20 for motor vehicle theft at 29th & Portland.

August 14  At about 4:30 a.m., officers searching the area (see the incident above) saw a male sitting in a bus shelter at 43rd & Upton in Linden Hills.  The 17-year-old male, who stated that he was coming from a friend’s house, was cited for curfew violation and transported home.  Officers were unable to connect the male with the two suspects apprehended in the incident above.

August 15  At about 1:45 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 28-year-old Jason William Brown and 24-year-old Andrew Jon Wendt, both of Bloomington, for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspects each had a can of Coors Light beer.

August 15  At about 2 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 24-year-old Eric Michael Kremin of Milwaukee, Wis, for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspect had a can of Modelo beer.

August 16  At about 8:50 a.m., an officer saw a male urinating in view of passersby in a parking lot at a strip mall on the southwest corner of 44th & Drew in Linden Hills.  40-year-old Thomas Andrew Sadler of 4620 West Lake Harriet Parkway was arrested for public urination and two misdemeanor warrants for trespassing (two charges), disorderly conduct, and theft.

August 17  At about 8:35 a.m., an officer saw a male removing items from a dumpster at 55th & Aldrich in Kenny.  47-year-old Veldez Sid Graham of 1925 Newton Ave North was cited for scrapping – recycling theft.  Graham has prior convictions in Hennepin County for 1st degree burglary, 2nd degree felony possession of a controlled substance – cocaine base, loud music in a motor vehicle, 5th degree felony possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

August 19  At about 1:30 a.m., officers stopped two males who were in the street at 60th & Dupont in Kenny.  Two 16-year-old males were cited for curfew violation.

August 20  At about 3:20 a.m., police stopped a suspect who was riding a bike with no lights at West 42nd St & West Lake Harriet Parkway in Linden Hills.  36-year-old Robert Angelo Gill of 3044 Chicago Ave was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant out of Goodhue County.

August 23  At about 3:10 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 21-year-old Mario Ficocello Stokes of 1201 Como Ave SE for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspect was in possession of beer.

August 23  At about 3:10 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 24-year-old Paul Michael Morrison of 1302 Linden Ave for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspect was in possession of beer.

August 24  At about 3:40 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 23-year-old Allison Mary Mickleson of 2893 Knox Ave South, 24-year-old Claire Colleen Dickey of 4805 Colfax Ave South, and 23-year-old Erin Elizabeth Arnesen of Stillwater for possession of liquor in a park.

August 25  At about 2:20 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 28-year-old Christina Rae Fontana of 5425 3rd Ave South and 27-year-old Christina Lynn Misenor and Jeffrey John Norton, both of St Louis Park, for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspects were in possession of beer.

August 25  At about 4:10 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 25-year-old Frances Marie Dorr of Roseville and 24-year-old Jessica Marie Robey and Abigale Jo Steele, both of River Falls, Wis, for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspects were in possession of beer.

August 27  At about 4:35 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 21-year-old Elizabeth Jewel McCracken of Bloomington and 21-year-old Cortney Nichole Mathis of St Paul for possession of liquor in a park.  The suspects were in possession of beer.

August 31  At about 2:30 p.m., police at Thomas Beach, 3700 Thomas Ave in Linden Hills, cited 24-year-old Cody John Peterson of Richfield, 26-year-old Housten Riley Housley of 922 22nd Ave NE, and 26-year-old John Michael Davidson of Edina for disorderly conduct.  Officers were dispatched to a disturbance.  A female child was listed as the victim.  Peterson has prior convictions in Minnesota for consumption of liquor by a minor (2), disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property (2), trespassing, terroristic threats, violating a domestic no contact order, violating an order for protection, theft, and 1st degree burglary.  Peterson, who was released from prison on August 15 on supervised release, was subsequently arrested on September 1 and charged with 2nd degree burglary of dwelling in Edina.  Housley has prior convictions in Hennepin and Dakota Counties for driving while intoxicated, consumption of liquor by a minor, possession of stolen property, and interfering with traffic (2).

September 4  At about 6:20 p.m., police at Kenny Park, 1328 West 58th St, arrested 20-year-old Jordan Douglas Klein of Edina for a petty misdemeanor narcotics violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing the legal process and cited 24-year-old Demarius Lashonn Beck of 5046 Drew Ave South for loitering with intent to buy or sell narcotics.

September 5  At about 1:55 p.m., police arrested 51-year-old Jack Alfonso Moore of 4431 Chowen Ave for terroristic threats against a police officer at that address.  Moore has prior convictions in Hennepin County for theft, 5th degree assault, domestic assault, trespassing, open bottle, 3rd degree assault causing substantial bodily harm, receiving / possessing stolen property, and disorderly conduct.

The Fulton Safety Committee will meet on Tuesday, September 24, at 7 p.m.
