Fulton Safety Committee report – February 10, 2016

Crime reports

January 22 At about 12:05 p.m., four non-student suspects entered Southwest High School, 3414 West 47th St, without permission, located a student in an occupied classroom, entered the classroom, and physically assaulted the student, resulting in physical injury.

January 22 Between January 22 and 26, an unknown suspect forced open the front door of a home on the 5000 block of Vincent and took unlisted items.

January 24 Between 6 p.m. January 24 and 12:30 p.m. January 25, an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 4900 block of York through an unlocked service door, rummaged through vehicles which were parked inside, and took a SuperAmerica gift card.

January 24 Between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 4800 block of Upton and stole cash from a vehicle which was parked inside. There was no sign of forced entry. A resident could not remember whether the service door was locked.

January 24 After 10 p.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 4900 block of Beard through an unlocked service door, rummaged through a vehicle which was parked inside, and took cash.

January 24 Between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 4800 block of Xerxes through an unlocked service door, rummaged through a vehicle which was parked inside, and took vehicle registration and insurance documents, an iPhone cord, a camera, and CDs.

January 24 Between 10:30 p.m. and 7 a.m., entered a garage on the 4900 block of Zenith through an unlocked service door and rumaged through vehicles which were parked inside. No loss was reported.

January 25 Between midnight and 1:50 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 4700 block of Washburn through an unlocked service door and stole a vehicle which was parked inside and had a set of keys in the console. The vehicle got stuck in snow on the side of the driveway and the suspect left it there.

January 25 Between 2:00 and 9:45 a.m., an unknown suspect entered a garage on the 4900 block of Zenith through an unlocked service door, rummaged through vehicles which were parked inside, and took cash, a wallet, and an iPod.

January 27 Between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., an unknown suspect cracked the front windshield and smashed the rear window and rear driver’s side window of a vehicle which was parked on the street on the 5300 block of Ewing.

January 27 Between 10 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., an unknown suspect broke into a vehicle parked at an address on the 5300 block of Ewing.

January 28 At about 1:25 p.m., officers were dispatched regarding a verbal domestic dispute at a home on the 5200 block of Chowen. 39-year-old Ethan Paul Quirt was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant out of Minneapolis for trespassing and obstructing the legal process, a misdemeanor warrant out of Scott County, a felony warrant out of Washington County, and a felony warrant from another state.

 

The Fulton Safety Committee will meet on Tuesday, February 23, at 7 p.m.

at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4801 France Ave.

Fulton Neighborhood Association (FNA)

Safety Committee Charter

Mission: Build community by strengthening connections, communication, and relationships among neighbors and between neighbors and police.

Strategies: 

  • Publish a regular safety update including a summary of police reports from the neighborhood. 
  • Hold regular meetings for the community with 5th Police Precinct staff .
  • Work with the 5th Police Precinct to:
    • Identify and address neighborhood safety issues
    • Promote and support the Block Club program
    • Make crime prevention and safety information available
  • Be prepared to react as needed to unforeseen crime-related events or trends in the neighborhood.
  • Report regularly to the FNA Board of Directors regarding neighborhood safety issues.
