March 22 Between March 22 and 24, unknown suspect(s) egged two vehicles which were parked on the street at an address on the 4800 block of Sheridan. The eggs were stuck hard on the vehicles and may have damaged the paint.
March 25 Between 5:00 and 5:25 p.m., an unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger side window of a vehicle which was parked in the lot behind Pig & Fiddle, 3812 West 50th St, and took items from the back seat including laptop computers. Officers noted that there are no surveillance cameras in this area.
March 27 At about 2:30 p.m., Minneapolis Police, including a K-9 unit, assisted officers from Bloomington Police in locating a suspect who had fled in a motor vehicle and, following a police chase, crashed on the 5200 block of Morgan. The K-9 unit located the suspect on the 2300 block of West 52nd St. 29-year-old Joseph Thomas Smykalski was arrested for fleeing police in a motor vehicle and a felony warrant out of Anoka County. Smykalski has prior convictions in Minnesota for disorderly conduct, violating a domestic no contact order, theft (3), trespassing (2), and giving police a false name (2).
March 30 At about 10:05 a.m., police responded regarding a theft at Linden Hills Laundry, 5016 Xerxes Ave.
