Arts Committee

Fulton Arts Committee

The Fulton Arts Committee was formed in 2009 with a mission of promoting the arts and cultural events throughout the neighborhood. The committee awarded grants for three arts projects in 2009, including: Peace Child International performance, Fulton Favorites neighborhood lawn signs and the development of a mural at Lake Harriet Upper Campus.

The committee meets as needed to review proposals submitted by local artists. Project possibilities range from music, dance, film, art, performances and workshops to temporary or permanent arts installations in the Fulton neighborhood.  Art proposals usually range from $500 – $2000.

The Arts Committee also sponsored a food sculpture that was assembled by Simply Jane Arts Studio during the 2009 Fulton Festival.  A total of 1,450 pounds of food and $250 in cash was donated to the Joyce Uptown Food Shelf.
