Ice Cream Social
It's time for the annual Ice Cream Social! FNA board will serve up free ice cream from our local La Michoacana. The Park will have a ton of family-friendly activities: Play Madagascar Jr. Musical, scavenger hunts, The park plans to have scavenger hunts and fun Madgegascar themed activities for families to do. Schedule of events: 5pm-6pm Madagascar Jr Play 6-8pm ice cream social and fun themed games by the park 530-7pm Community Dinner inside. This event is brought to you in collaboration with Pershing Park.

Help shape trash and recycling policy in the Twin Cities metro
Brooklyn Park LibraryDid you know the Twin Cities metro is bulging with trash? The seven-county metro generated 3.3 million tons of waste in 2021. This number is expected to grow 19% by 2042. In 2021, the metro’s recycling rate dropped to 45%, a 4% reduction from the previous year, and far short of the state’s goal of achieving a 75% recycling rate by 2030. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is inviting residents of Hennepin County to provide their input on our 70 recommendations for reducing waste across the Twin Cities. Join us on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Brooklyn Park Library to learn about our draft Metro Solid Waste Policy Plan, ask questions, and share your feedback with our experts. Attend and get a small sample of each chili, then vote for your favorite! The top 3 winners will receive prizes. Want to share your favorite chili recipe with neighbors? But wait, there is more!: Pershing Park staff will cool us off with a giant slip-and-slide & serve snow cone treats!
