MPRB seeks input on a new policy for public participation and engagement

  • July 2, 2010
  • Community Engagement, Parks

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is working to develop a new public participation and engagement policy to revise current standards and provide consistent practices for working and communicating with the public. To hear suggestions and ideas from the community on this policy, the MPRB will conduct public meetings at multiple locations throughout the city in July.

All meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. The community is invited to attend a meeting at:

Lynnhurst Park
Tuesday, July 13
1345 Minnehaha Pkwy. W
Minneapolis, MN 55419
Phone: 612 370-4914

Windom NE Park
Thursday, July 15
2251 Hayes St. NE
Minneapolis, MN 55418
Phone: 612 370-4905

Farview Park
Tuesday, July 20
621 29th Ave. N
Minneapolis, MN 55411
Phone: 612 370-4922

Powderhorn Park
Thursday, July 22
3400 15th Ave. S
Minneapolis, MN 55407
Phone: 612 370-4960

Beginning July 1, an online survey will also be available at www.minneapolisparks.org . Paper surveys can also be filled out and returned at recreation centers throughout the park system. Community preferences for being involved and what subject matter is important areexamples of discussion topics at each public meeting.

Translation services can be provided with 48-hour notice by calling 612-230-6413. For further information about public participation and policy development, check out the project page at http://www.minneapolisparks.org/default.asp?PageID=125.

For more information, contact Ginger Cannon, Community Outreach and Research Planner at gcannon@minneapolisparks.org or
