Spring is here! Spring/Summer gardening and lawn maintenance season is around the corner. The Fulton Neighborhood Environment Committee supports and would like to share the key provisions of the Minneapolis Pollinator Resolution and what it might suggest for residents and businesses.

The City of Minneapolis urges all Minneapolis property owners, residents, businesses, institutions, and neighborhoods to become more pollinator-friendly by adopting practices listed below.

Here’s what each one of us can do to protect our pollinators:

  •  Committing to not use pesticides, including systemic insecticides, on their property;
  •  Avoiding planting flowering plants that are treated with systemic insecticides;
  •  Discontinuing the sale of pesticides and plants that are treated with insecticides;
  •  Planting more pollinator forage on their property and
  •  Organic or chemical-free lawn and landscaping practices.
