Many of you may remember the January FNN article about Laura Martinez, her two children, and Tilly the cat, who moved into a home in Fulton with the help of funding from the Fulton Neighborhood Association and the City of Lakes Community Land Trust (CLCLT).
$100,000 is still available from the FNA to provide $50,000 each to two more home buyers. Added to this is up to $60,000 from CLCLT for each of the two homes, making a total of up to $110,000 in cash to buy down the mortgages of the prospective Fulton homeowners. CLCLT also provides up to $25,000 to make repairs to the new home after doing a detailed analysis of needed improvements.
To qualify, the potential buyer must not earn more than 50 percent of the area median income, which is currently $42,000 for a family of four. So, if you know of or hear about anyone who would like to live in Fulton, and who you think might qualify, have them call Jeff Washburne at CLCLT at 612-721-7556, ext. 17.
