Work to remove and replace a half-block stretch of sewer pipe on 47th St. between Washburn Ave. and Vincent Ave. is expected to begin in mid-January 2016. This work must be completed during the winter when seasonal flooding risks are minimal and requires that the ground has thoroughly frozen to ensure worker safety. This work will take approximately eight weeks to complete and will occur Monday through Friday generally between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
47th St. will be closed between Washburn Ave. and Vincent Ave. on either side of the curb diverter for approximately two weeks starting January 18, 2016. Residents on 47th Street will still have access to their driveways from Xerxes Ave. (west of Washburn Ave.) or Vincent Ave. (east of Washburn Ave.).
