Traffic deaths and severe injuries are unacceptable. Together, we can make our streets safe for everyone.
The Draft Vision Zero Minneapolis Action Plan has now been released. This plan outlines steps the city will take in the next 3 years to make progress towards the goal to eliminate traffic deaths and severe injuries on our streets.
The draft plan was developed by City staff across multiple departments with significant input and direction from community stakeholders, partner agencies, and the public. Thanks to the more than 3,000 people who shared feedback on traffic safety with us over the last 14 months to help shape this plan.
Draft Vision Zero Action Plan strategies include:
*Reducing speed limits.
*Making safety improvement on streets with the most severe and fatal crashes.
*Addressing most unsafe traffic behaviors that lead to the most severe and fatal crashes.
*Seeking to implement automated traffic enforcement.
