The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is seeking input from area residents, field game participants and park visitors regarding renovations planned for the athletic fields at Pershing Park. The meeting, to be held at Pershing Park at 48th and Chowen Ave. S., will provide an opportunity to learn about, as well as offer ideas and suggestions for, the upcoming field renovation project. The project calls for the installation of an irrigation system and grading throughout the park. The fields will be closed this summer while the work is done. The baseball/softball fields are expected to be ready for use in spring 2012 and the soccer fields by fall 2012. The project is made possible by grants from Hennepin County, Fulton Neighborhood Association (FNA), Linden Hills Neighborhood Council (LHiNC) and the Southwest Athletic Council (SWAC).
