Fulton Neighborhood Association is in its second year of providing funding to local programming through the Fulton Small Grants Program. The program is designed to support community engagement and neighborhood youth activities. In the first year of programming, funding went to support a bullying prevention program, music education and enhancement, art activities and youth leadership.
Fulton Neighborhood Association is proud to announce the recipients of the 2016 Fulton Small Grants:
Normandale Center for Healing and Wholeness
Award Amount: $2,500
Program: Provide supportive encouragement to community participants ages 60+ in a fun learning environment as they engage in healthy aging practices.
50th & France Business Association
Award Amount: $2,000
Program: Support the 2nd Annual Open Streets on 50th St. which is an event that allows for safe and walkable ways to explore the area and businesses while engaging with neighbors and other community groups.
Student Health Force
Award Amount: $1,000
Program: Initiate a new Health Force program teaching children how to keep themselves healthy using current technology, posters and other activities.
Lake Harriet Community School: Mrs. Hansen’s Seventh Grade Class
Award Amount: $1,000
Program: Students have read The Diary of Anne Frank and will now attend a performance of the same-named play and create scrapbook displays to educate other students and staff.
