The Minneapolis Charter Commission will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 beginning at a time certain of 4:30 p.m. for the purpose of soliciting comments concerning the provisions of the Charter which allow wine and beer sales in establishments where more than 70% of gross receipts are attributable to the sale of food. The proposed amendment would eliminate the 70% requirement in the Charter and leave regulation of these establishments to Ordinance. The proposed amendment would also eliminate Charter restrictions on the ability to sell alcohol until after food has been purchased and limitations on the ability to have a bar area and leave these issues to Ordinance.Â
