One-Sort Recycling Program
And Other Solid Waste Issues
Summer Forum
Sat., June 22
9:15 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Lynnhurst Community Center
Everyone Welcome!
· Now that nearly all Southwest residents have their new “one-sort” recycling carts, we want to make sure that everyone is putting the correct materials into their cart.
· Do you know all of the plastics that can be included, or whether to include bottle caps or jar lids? How about paper? Do you know the difference between recyclable and non-recyclable (maybe compostable) paper?
Please join us to hear from the experts about the new Minneapolis One-Sort Recycling Program and other sold waste disposal issues involving Hennepin County drop-off facilities.
Bring examples of materials you are wondering about, and get your answers NOW, while the program is still young!
Also, hear about the success of the program to date and what happens to all of the materilas that are collected.
Speakers: Kellie Kish, Recycling Coordinator, Division of Solid Waste & Recycling, City of Minneapolis
Jeremy Jones, Waste Reduction Specialist, Hennepin County Environmental Services
9:15 – 9:30 Sign-in, coffee and rolls
9:30 – 10:15 Presentations
10:15 – 11:00 Follow-up questions and discussion
