Learn About Proposed Service Changes in I-35W and 46th Street Corridors

  • June 2, 2010
  • Community Engagement, News

Metro Transit is restructuring service in south Minneapolis, Bloomington, Richfield and Edina.  The service plan proposes changes to provide faster access to suburban employers and schools, add more frequent rush-hour service on four routes and modify service to downtown and the U of M.  A key element of the plan is the new I-35W & 46th Street Station. This two-level station allows easy connections between local routes traveling on 46th Street and express buses on I-35W that can pick up or drop off customers without having to leave the freeway.

These routes will be affected by the plan:
11, 18, 46, 113, 135, 146, 152, 156, 535, 558, 576, 578, 579, 597 and 684

How to comment on the plan

These are the remaining public meetings:

Tuesday, June 15, 5-7 p.m.
Fuller Park
4800 Grand Avenue S., Minneapolis

Tuesday, June 29, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
– Public Hearing –

The June 29 meeting is a formal public hearing. Comments for the public record will be collected at all meetings.
Interested persons may register to speak at the June 29 public hearing by calling the Metropolitan Council Data Center, at 651-602-1140 (TTY 651-291-0904) in advance.

Get more details about the proposed plan at metrotransit.org/35W.

You also can send an e-mail to 35W-BRTstation@metc.state.mn.us or mail your comments to: Metropolitan Council, 390 Robert Street North, St. Paul, MN 55101.
