Every year the Fulton Neighborhood Association (FNA) awards grants to businesses, groups or organization in the Fulton Neighborhood. This year we had a record number of 14 requests for funding. Because of the large interest this year, the FNA decided to double the amount of money awarded to include more organizations. The awardees this year are:
Good Trouble: A youth led movement will host a community wide singing event in early fall. All ages and abilities are welcome for this unique opportunity.
Rose Lani Music for Children who will put on a free outdoor music event this summer that is a music jam for children of all ages and their accompanying adults. The children will be engaged with stories, songs, music, moving to the music and simple rhythm instruments.
Pink Giraffe will host a two hourncreative experience for neighborhood mothers through a two-hour workshop where women can reconnect with themselves through art.
Minneapolis Public Schools, Special School District No 1 will use its grant money to help fund to make three performances of their annual summer musical Hairspray accessible to Deaf/Hard of hearing community members.
Southwest High School will use its money to fund server for the school news paper website. The newspaper provides a voice to the students, brings to light student issues and as an accessible news source for Southwest students, families and community members.
