Art Shanty Projects, the uniquely Minnesotan festival created each year atop a frozen lake, will occur for the first time in Minneapolis on Lake Harriet.
For over a decade, Art Shanty Projects has organized a monthlong transformation of an ice-covered body of water into an interactive, artist-driven temporary community that expands notions of art and artist.

The festival events include a horse-drawn wagon rides, snowshoeing, ice fishing for kids provided by Tips Outdoors, a marshmallow roast, music, Wild Rumpus Reading Walks, Farmstead Bike Shop Fat Tire Bikes Demo and new this year, Art Shanty. Minnesota Kite Society experts will be on hand to demonstrate maneuvering spectacular kites throughout the day, offer their expertise to kite flying enthusiasts and to those who are new to the pastime. Bring your own kite or purchase one at the event. Food Trucks will be available to purchase food and hot drinks.
